Full-size reading material.
The readers open only when asked. Magazines, unlike websites, were designed for lingering.
The assignment
A travel feature has two jobs. It must be useful when the reader arrives and vivid enough to make arriving seem like a good idea. The place itself gets a vote, too.
My part in it
Contributed freelance travel articles to Lonely Planet Magazine India between 2010 and 2012.
The finished work
- Reported travel features
- Destination storytelling
- Long-form magazine writing
- First-hand travel observation
