CASE STUDY / AUTOCAR INDIA

Cars, copy and a Twitter account that got considerably busier

Two and a half years on staff, more freelance work afterwards and assignments involving nearly every major automotive brand in India.

WORTH PUTTING NEAR THE TOP

Twitter grew from 65,000 to 92,500 followers, while monthly impressions rose from roughly 400,000 to more than one million.

THE LOGO SITUATION

These were all part of it.

A proper count, because “several major brands” would be both vague and suspiciously modest.

This list is definitely incomplete. There were many more car and bike brands across editorial assignments, special projects and branded work.

SELECTED WORK

Here it is.

01 / WHAT ARRIVED

The assignment

Autocar readers know cars. They notice lazy claims, missing details and marketing disguised as journalism. The branded work had to earn its place in front of that audience.

02 / WHAT I HANDLED

My part in it

Senior Special Projects Writer from June 2014 to December 2016, covering editorial, branded content and social growth, followed by further freelance contributions after leaving the full-time role.

03 / WHAT LEFT THE BUILDING

The finished work

  • Features and special projects
  • Automotive branded content
  • Social programming and copy
  • A concept car later driven and broken by a Formula 1 champion
